What do you do at GRENKE?

I am a Senior Internal Sales Manager. The structure of the Hub, where three branches are all working together, meant there were differences. So, I had to standardise the best practices and make sure the Hub team were able to follow them, which involved a lot of training.

What do you love the most about your job and why?

The team, for sure. Every person is so different with varying hobbies, interests, life experiences. It has been great getting to know each person in the team and being able to see their strengths shine through their work. Learning all the different accounts and ways of handling them has created a great bond between all of us.

What’s been your greatest achievement at GRENKE?

I created the first proposal guide, as well as an updated settlement, upgrade and novation guide at GRENKE. So many things need to be considered in underwriting while following our internal systems. With new staff joining, as well as existing staff needing some extra guidance, they have become a very useful tool.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

I have always been an animal lover. I currently have two dogs, Primrose and Sammy, but I have also had several different pets in the past such as hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, dogs, cats and even birds. When I was young my grandad was a woodsman and he would often find abandoned birds’ nests. My sister and I would try and nurse the baby birds to health and then release them back into the woods.

Name something that’s on your bucket list.

I have always wanted to travel around Japan and I would love to visit in the cherry blossom period. They have an amazing culture, with great history, breath-taking views and delicious food.

What’s your favourite time of day and why?

My favourite time of the day is the evening. Time to slow down and nowhere to be on time. Spend time with my partner and our dogs, unwind and watch some of our favourite shows or a movie.

What one piece of music gets you up and dancing?

I am quite a big fan of Ed Sheeran and I find his music always puts me in a great mood. I have seen him live a few times and will be going to see him again in July 2024.

What advice would you give your 15-year old self?

Don’t look back with regret, look at your future. I think it’s important to learn from mistakes but they shouldn’t stop you from doing things in your future.
